Boeing Explorer Rocket Group Annual Recognition Picnic

Boeing Employee's Fitness Center - July 15, 2000

The Boeing Explorer Rocket Group, sponsored by Boeing and Canoga Park High School, celebrated its second year at a family potluck picnic at the Boeing Employee's Fitness Center. Post members, Boeing mentors, and their families were invited to the event, which was attended by 36 people. In attendance was Lori Circle, Boeing Canoga Park Director of Communications.

A wide variety of salads, fruit, and deserts accompanied the 16-ft long sandwich provided by The Boeing Company at the event. The first item on our agenda was lunch! At the big kid's table: Laurie Duley, Mary Montes, Ernie Acosta, Maria Tarn, Charles Montes, and Lesli Blake.

Following lunch, we reviewed the events of the year and announced the winners of the Edwards Air Force Base rocket launching contest. Winners were presented with award certificates and a gift certificate to Best Buy. Winners pictured here are Ryan, Charles, Jennifer, and Donna. Presenting the awards and also pictured are Lesli Blake, Jim Hoggat, and Bob Tarn.
