2010 Recipient of Women in Aviation Chuck Yeager Foundation Scholarship Announced
At the 21st Annual Women in Aviation International Conference (February 25-27), WAI and its members awarded the Chuck Yeager Scholarship. The recipient was Caroline d’Otreppe.
Caroline is the Director of Educational programs for the New England Air Museum. In her essay she wrote, “I have been immersed in aviation for the majority of my life. Now is the time for me to join the world’s family of pilots and pursue my dream of flying. I teach the history and science of flight as an informal educator but have not experienced the freedom of flight except through the writings of Anne Lindbergh and other aviation authors.”
WAI scholarship information for 2011 will be posted in early August at www.wai.org. The deadline for submitting applications will be in early November, and scholarship will be awarded at the 22nd annual conference (location to be announced).
